I work with an amazing group of enthusiastic third graders! We are a Title 1 school, with a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced lunch. The students depend on the school to provide supplies, but we currently do not have the budget to make this happen. My instructional approach encourages inquiry and differentiation through a variety of learning experiences. I am also a "teacher-ranger," spending my summers working for the National Park Service. My students benefit because I frequently incorporate lessons about nature and environmental stewardship into the curriculum. I absolutely love what I do, but I wish that educators would receive more financial support and the basic resources needed to maintain and enhance their classroom community.
