It was exciting to see students encouraging one another, trying new skills, and staying active throughout the entire lesson. Having additional equipment also means more students can participate at the same time instead of waiting for a turn.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new equipment, they were immediately excited and eager to get started. The basketballs and jump ropes especially caught their attention, and students were excited to begin practicing with the new equipment. The enthusiasm carried into our lessons as students challenged themselves to improve their skills and encouraged their classmates along the way. The new equipment has helped create an energetic and positive environment where students look forward to being active.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue developing these skills through a variety of individual and team activities. Students will work on improving their jump-rope skills, ball-handling, passing, and shooting while also learning how to communicate and work effectively with teammates. The 9-cube shelf, collapsible storage bins, and pens have already made a big difference in our classroom. We are using the shelf and bins to organize our PE equipment so students can easily find what they need and, just as importantly, know where everything belongs when it is time to clean up. The pens have allowed us to clearly label the bins and create signs to help students take greater ownership of our equipment. One of the most rewarding moments has been watching students independently return equipment to the correct location without needing reminders.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were excited to see something new in our PE space. They immediately wanted to know what the bins were for and how we would use the shelf. The new organization has helped make our classroom feel more welcoming and has given students a greater sense of responsibility. They are learning that taking care of our equipment and working together to keep our space organized are important parts of being a successful PE class.\r\n\r\nI have students being empowered to take a leadership role and keep everything organized. My students were thrilled to receive their brand-new water bottle this past week! They selected their favorite color and immediately filled it with fresh water. Their faces were full of smiles as they used their new bottles for the first time.\r\n\r\nMy students loved their water bottles so much that they asked to take them outside during our break time just to carry them around and show them off. It is still very hot in Arizona, so having these water bottles ensures that my students will stay hydrated and more focused in class.\r\n\r\nMost of my students did not have their own water bottle from home, so having their own stainless steel water bottle ensures equity. As a teacher I appreciate knowing each student has their own bottle of water because they are no longer using plastic cups, which spill and make distracting noises.\r\n\r\nThanks again so much from the bottom of my heart! My students love proudly carrying their water bottles around and are taking good care of them. The water bottles stay at school until the end of the year, when they will be able to take them home to keep. This ensures that the water bottles will always be available to use at school. I even have class jobs of \"water filler.\" These students fill up the water bottles as needed at the end of the day so that students have a fresh full bottle the next day.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your kind donation! We had about $30 additional dollars left over, which I spent on new binders. My students have brand-new half inch binders for our literacy time, which is important because their work will now stay much more organized. Wishing you the best! Students select a cozy spot in the classroom and just READ, READ, READ! They tell me that this time of the day is their favorite time of the day because the classroom is quiet and reading becomes a calming experience where they get to \"get lost in a good book.\" \r\n\r\nThe new books have been a popular part of my classroom's library. My students really like reading the graphic novels such as the Babysitter's Club and the National Geographic series have been the most popular new nonfiction titles. They read many of the picture books to their kindergarten buddies. They read with their kindergarten buddy every week, which promotes a love for literacy and motivates the younger students to want to learn how to read fluently and with expression.\r\n\r\nI have also been encouraging my students to create higher level thinking questions for the books they read. When my students read to younger classes, I have them use a whiteboard to create a Costa's Levels of Thinking House. They create a level 1, level 2, and level 3 question for the book they read, each representing a different level on the house. Having students generate their own questions about the books they read has helped them become critical thinkers. They are learning how to use text evidence to justify their answers and think about the theme of the books they read.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so very much for your amazing and generous support of my fourth grade classroom. Instead of having 8 kids crowded at the table during group time, I send some of them to the standing desk to complete their work. They used the table to keep their cards organized as they reasoned about each fraction's value with a partner. I have many students with ADHD, so this desk is also a perfect place for them to work because they are not confined to a seat. They can listen to the lesson and participate while standing up. The mesh backing is very supportive and I know that this chair will last for many years because it is made from high quality materials.\r\n\r\nThanks from the bottom of my heart for providing this rolling chair for my classroom. I mentioned that my school never provided me with a teacher chair. I had been using a hard, uncomfortable student chair to teach from prior to your donation. Most of my lessons happen in the front of the room by our Promethean board, so now that I have this fabulous rolling chair I can easily adjust the height and am feeling more relaxed as I teach. As you know, this job is stressful, but rewarding. Having this rolling chair makes my job teaching easier because by posture has improved because I am no longer bending down to reach the table to share work on our document camera. I also really enjoy using it to roll to different areas of the room when I need to quickly grab a worksheet or redirect a student without getting up. I use the chair as an incentive.
