The standing desk we received is so cool!!!! It has an innovative button in the front that students can press to make the desk higher or lower according to their height. They use the standing desk every day! Since I have a large class I have been keeping the standing desk in the back of our room near our large group table. Instead of having 8 kids crowded at the table during group time, I send some of them to the standing desk to complete their work. They love using it!\r\n\r\nWe recently completed a fraction sorting activity where students arranged cards according to whether a fraction was greater than or less than one whole. They used the table to keep their cards organized as they reasoned about each fraction's value with a partner. I have many students with ADHD, so this desk is also a perfect place for them to work because they are not confined to a seat. They can listen to the lesson and participate while standing up. My students enjoying reading to each other at the standing desk as well. \r\n\r\nThanks again for your kind donation and know that you have made such an incredible positive difference in my fourth grade class. Now all my teacher friends want a standing desk for their own classroom:) Wishing you only the best!","fullyFundedDate":1762901398097,"projectUrl":"project/super-standing-desk/9645821/","projectTitle":"Super Standing Desk","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Doerr","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp399100_orig.jpg?crop=388,388,x53,y123&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1556939620888","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-doerr"},{"teacherId":399100,"projectId":9616935,"letterContent":"I wanted to let you know that my fourth grade class has loved having a comfy new rolling chair! They use it all the time when we do student-led math groups. Student \"teacher-leaders\" sit in the chair and use the computer to direct their peers in math-related review. Recently the students used the chair to read to the class during our read aloud time. It can be lowered or made higher depending on each child's height. The mesh backing is very supportive and I know that this chair will last for many years because it is made from high quality materials.\r\n\r\nThanks from the bottom of my heart for providing this rolling chair for my classroom. I mentioned that my school never provided me with a teacher chair. I had been using a hard, uncomfortable student chair to teach from prior to your donation. Most of my lessons happen in the front of the room by our Promethean board, so now that I have this fabulous rolling chair I can easily adjust the height and am feeling more relaxed as I teach. As you know, this job is stressful, but rewarding. Having this rolling chair makes my job teaching easier because by posture has improved because I am no longer bending down to reach the table to share work on our document camera. I also really enjoy using it to roll to different areas of the room when I need to quickly grab a worksheet or redirect a student without getting up. I use the chair as an incentive. Today was one of my students' 10th birthday and he proudly sat in the rolling chair the entire day.\r\n\r\nThank you for being a kind and generous person. When students first saw the new supplies and safety materials, they were genuinely excited and proud. Many asked if the materials were really for our class. Having consistent access to pencils, organized resources, and visible safety supplies helps them feel prepared and cared for every day.\r\n\r\nWe are already using these materials in our vocabulary, reading, and writing lessons. Students use the supplies to complete graphic organizers, annotate texts, and participate in collaborative speaking activities. Because we no longer have to worry about missing materials, we can focus fully on language development and academic growth. Your generosity has strengthened our classroom community and shown our students that people believe in their success. Because of you, our classroom received brand-new volleyballs, footballs, and a kickball — and the difference they've made has been truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment I told my students the equipment had arrived, the excitement was contagious. They couldn't wait to get their hands on the new gear and start using it in class. These simple yet essential tools have completely transformed our physical education program. We now have the equipment needed to run engaging and structured activities like volleyball games, football drills, and kickball matches, which had previously been limited due to worn-out or missing equipment.\r\n\r\nOur new balls are used regularly during PE lessons and especially during our \"Workout Wednesday\" sessions — a weekly tradition where students participate in a rotation of games and fitness activities to build strength, coordination, and teamwork. The volleyballs have helped students improve communication and movement skills, the footballs have been great for developing hand-eye coordination and strategy, and the kickball has become a favorite for encouraging inclusive, active play.\r\n\r\nBeyond physical fitness, these games foster collaboration, resilience, and a strong sense of community. Students are more engaged, more confident, and genuinely look forward to PE days — which makes a big difference in their overall attitude toward school.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our classroom has the tools to keep moving, growing, and thriving. Because of you, we now have a full set of new dodgeballs — and they've already made a huge impact on my students' learning, physical development, and overall enthusiasm for school.\r\n\r\nWhen I told my students that we were getting new equipment, the room absolutely erupted with excitement. You would've thought it was a holiday! Many of them asked, \"Are they the soft ones?\" and were thrilled to hear that, yes — these were safe, fun-to-throw dodgeballs that would let everyone participate without fear. That sense of inclusion made a big difference right from day one.\r\n\r\nSince the balls arrived, we've been using them in structured PE lessons for dodgeball and team handball — two games that build far more than athletic skill. Students are developing hand-eye coordination, communication, strategic thinking, and teamwork. These games also help teach sportsmanship, resilience, and how to manage both winning and losing gracefully.\r\n\r\nEven students who were previously hesitant to join in are now fully engaged, thanks to the safe design and bright colors of the new balls. They feel more confident participating, and that boost carries over into the classroom — I've noticed more collaboration and positivity even outside of PE time.\r\n\r\nWhat you provided wasn't \"just\" sports equipment. You gave my students a reason to move, to smile, to connect with each other, and to develop lifelong habits that support both their mental and physical health.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for giving my students the tools they need to grow in every way.","fullyFundedDate":1570730881241,"projectUrl":"project/team-handball-and-dodgeball/4461933/","projectTitle":"Team Handball and Dodgeball","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sampson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5548145_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532034557066","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-sampson"},{"teacherId":5548145,"projectId":3416284,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support of our classroom project. Thanks to you, we now have brand new soccer balls and goals — and the impact on my students has been immediate and incredible.\r\n\r\nWhen I told my students that we were receiving new soccer equipment, their faces lit up with pure excitement and disbelief. Many of them have never had access to proper, high-quality sports gear before, and to know that someone cared enough to provide this for them was both humbling and inspiring. There were cheers and tons of high-fives. It was a moment I will never forget.\r\n\r\nSince the equipment arrived, my students have been using the new soccer balls and goals during physical education and recess. We've incorporated the gear into structured lessons that teach teamwork, communication, and physical fitness. Beyond improving their athletic skills, students are learning the value of cooperation, discipline, and perseverance — lessons that directly support their academic and social growth.\r\n\r\nStudents who were previously shy or disengaged have started participating more.
