My Project

As we all know, getting students to read more is highly important, but can also be a big struggle for kids who claim that they do not like to read. I know that if I can just get them to read something they enjoy, that will all change. Earlier in the year my students have requested for our classroom to have more graphic novels, and I noticed that my most reluctant readers were highly interested in these books. Finally! I found a way to reach them!

The graphic novels in this project focus on different cultures, celebrate black history and women in history, cover American history, and also a variety of interests that my students had requested.

I know with these books not only will I be able to get my students to read more on their own, but I will also be able to have representation for my wonderfully diverse student population.
