My Project

Graphic novels are the most motivating books for reluctant readers. Whenever teachers purchase them, they fly off the shelves. The variety of books we are requesting are classics, sports themed, fantasies, and mysteries novels. Graphic novels appeal to visual learners and students who find the task of reading chapter books extremely challenging. They give many of our fifth grade students a reason to love reading.

Reluctant and struggling readers light up at the chance to devour appealing graphic novels and discuss them with their peers.

What more could a teacher ask than to instill a love of reading in our students?
