My Project

Most of us remember the struggle of middle school. The current conditions in our world have not made growing up any easier. However, those struggles have not diminished the motivation of my eighth grade English Language Arts students to succeed. I am proud of their efforts and strive to give them every resource available to be successful. Thanks to programs like this one, there are ways and means to help fulfill their academic goals.

Greek mythology is ingrained in our culture's collective consciousness.

Allusions to Zeus, Ulysses, and Odysseus are prevalent in societies around the world. An accessible and enjoyable introduction to these classic stories can be found in author Gareth Hinds' popular graphic novel, The Odyssey. DonorsChoose donations can give my students access to these stories in a way that engages their curiosity and informs their learning at the same time.
