My Students
What can I tell you about my students? First off, they are truly amazing and inquisitive. They have welcomed me to their school and humble me with their curiosity and humanity. Each day they make me feel at home by stopping by the library to visit, listen to books, make crafts, and explore all the library has to offer!
Our school's theme is that of exploration and innovation and the students I work with are ready for the world of discovery and imagination.
I am proud to be their librarian and want to give them a rich and thought-provoking collection of books.
My Project
Graphic Novels - Kids of all ages love them (and adults are starting to as well!) They inspire creativity and foster a love for reading! I cannot keep these works of art and lit on the shelves!
Almost on a daily basis, students stop by the library to ask for Captain Underpants, Dork Diaries, and Wimpy Kids.
Students find the characters and their antics or challenges relatable. I have students writing their own graphic novels.
Love em or hate em (I personally love them) - graphic novels are wonderful for reluctant and hesitant readers and for firing up the imagination.
