Greetings - welcome to my teacher page! My classroom (lucky me - it is the library) is made up of nearly 700 students ranging from little people who do not yet know how to read to those who are high school bound & ready for the world of Young Adult books. Harry Conte West Hills is a New Haven magnet school with the theme of innovation & exploration. We are diverse with many backgrounds, languages, & religions. What connects all of us is our creativity, kindness, & willingness to try new things! Most of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Some are dealing with some incredible challenges but still come to school ready to learn & grow as people. Some of us are avid readers while others are reluctant readers - but I am convinced that with the right books, we can be a school where reading, writing, & thinking becomes second nature & is a joyful experience.
