My Students

We are teaching math students at a suburban high school where almost 50% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.

Not all of these students can afford the technology such as calculators for their math and science classes.

We want these students to practice using these graphing calculators daily before they use them on state-mandated achievement tests, Advance Placement tests, or the ACT/SAT.

Your support would help students do well in math and science classes and on their tests.

My Project

I am asking for three TI 84 plus graphing calculators to add to my class set. I have a class set of 25 calculators but have as many as 34 students in a class. As graphing calculators break down I need these funds to replace broken calculators so students can have daily experiences with this type of technology.

Graphing calculators are not only requires for the AP Calculus exam but they enhance activities, explorations and analysis of data in the math classroom.

Students need to practice this prior to the AP Exam and they need help exploring patterns and realistic numbers on a daily basis.
