Grants 4 Great Ideas: Building and Designing with STEM Manipulatives!
Help me give my students hands on, engaging STEM learning materials and manipulatives.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Rhodes's classroom raised $745

My Project
My students are an amazing group of diverse children that are excited to learn and grow. My classroom is for students ages 3 to 5 years old. My students are developmentally delayed and many need one-on-one direct instruction. Lessons are tailored to each student's daily needs. My Pre-K class is smart, kind, and creative. My kids are filled with joy, excitement, and a true love for learning. They are the reason that I love what I do!
I hope to give them many new play centers and materials filled with STEM learning opportunities that will be embedded into their natural play.
Hands-on learning is best for our littlest learners and providing a way to engage STEM concepts while they are playing with blocks, building materials, magnets, and other naturally engaging activities will help support their child-driven learning ambition!
These hands-on materials will be used throughout the year in student-led and teacher led collaborative small groups and for review of important concepts. I will use our baseline knowledge and ending knowledge to measure growth in scientific understanding, as documented in play and small groups. These will be used for Math and Science Pre-K standards. My goal is that at least 70% of my students will improve their understanding of STEM concepts.
We will use their play to practice engaging STEM concepts. Learning with hands-on and embedded concepts is the best way for preschoolers to gain knowledge!
