Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of passionate students that want to help the future generation of children. They are all involved with a career and technical student led organization called Educator's Rising. This organization focuses on encouraging students to pursue a career in education or take on leadership roles.

This group of young adults are all passionate about working with children and bringing out the best in them.

They spend the year learning about child development and spend part of the year teaching children. They all also participate in various service projects including raising awareness about obstacles that can have a negative impact on education, raising money for a scholarship to support students in need, and collecting books and donated them to title one schools.

These high school students are the future generation that will be leaders and teachers teaching the next generation

My Project

Throughout the school year, the students in my early childhood education class learn about all of the different developmental domains and ways to provide activities to support those domains. They also are working on fundraising and doing service projects throughout the year. At the end of the school year, they take a state test to prove what they have learned throughout the two years of being in early childhood education.

In order to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the field of early childhood, I would like my students to wear stoles at graduation.

Graduation is a huge milestone in the lives of my students and having a stole gives them a sense of pride in all of the things that they have accomplished.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
