Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

When you first meet my students, you would never guess that their school is located in a low socioeconomic area of our city. These bright leaders of tomorrow, a diverse group of Hispanic and African American children, inspire me everyday to be a better teacher.

What makes my students special is their curious nature and always wanting to know "why" about the ways of the world.

They are never satisfied with just one general answer, especially when it comes to social and political issues.

My Project

We are working on several fundraisers to build a classroom tech library that allow our students access to online resources on a daily basis. Many of our students do not have access to technology outside of school.

My goal is to provide them with the resources they need to be successful in an ever-changing digital world.

We need help getting the basics that we need so that we are able to use Chromebooks as we raise money to purchase them one at a time. This cart will help us keep them ready for use and encourage us to keep working to fill every slot, providing each student with a device.
