The love for learning is real in third grade! My students are energetic, hardworking, and have a passion for learning. As a teacher, I do my best to provide my students with engaging and creative experiences in the classroom.
By creating a classroom community and focusing on student relationships, I am hopeful to inspire my students to have a passion for love and learning.
As a teacher in a Title I school, over 40% of my students receive free/reduced lunch. Our campus and community are overcoming challenges from Hurricane Harvey. Despite the obstacles my students face outside of the classroom, I believe through building meaningful relationships, teaching a love for reading, and having fun, my students have the potential to overcome and become life-long learners.
Have you ever asked 20 students to sit in a hard, non-moving, plastic chair for six to seven hours? That is a battle I face on a daily basis in my 3rd grade classroom. Most children (and adults) like to move while they work, and need to get the wiggles out! Wobble chairs and stability balls are the perfect answer to my classroom seating problem.
By having seating options like stability balls and wobble chairs, students will be able to become more comfortable and successful while completing class work.
Not only will my students have seating options, they will be able to focus for longer periods of time, improve their core stability, and posture, all while releasing energy (the wiggles).
