Got Toner?

Help me give my students toner to print our daily reading, writing, and math lessons.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with a large culturally and linguistically diverse group of amazing learners, which include K-5 grade levels. As a teacher, I create a classroom environment that is warm, welcoming, and student-friendly. My students are an amazing group of individuals with various abilities. My students are ready to learn and will persist even when things are hard. They are motivated to learn and they want to be at school, want to learn, and want to succeed.

I believe it is my responsibility to help my students to participate as fully as possible in their classrooms, which means working in exciting and innovative ways on skill development.

My Project

“We may be uncomfortable talking about race, but we can no longer afford to be silent. We have chosen a profession that—like parenting—requires us to put our comforts second to those of children.” ~Jamilah Pitts

I am asking for color toner to print resources to help my students learn more about racial justice.

I would like to focus on lessons such as Looking at Race and Racial Identity Through Critical Literacy in Children’s Books: lesson to talk about racial identity and the harmful potential of racial stereotypes, Different Colors of Beauty: Lessons to help students openly develop and discuss their racial or ethnic identities, Understanding Prejudice Through Paper Plate Portraits, and Anti-Racism Activity - The Sneetches.

I will also use the toner to print worksheets in case a student was to lose their worksheet. I would be able to immediately print off another one. Sometimes it is not feasible to go to the copy room and make copies. I would also be able to print a wide variety of pictures that students can use for their token charts or communicate. This toner would also help with enhancing our classroom and assist with providing more "real-life" visuals. Having toner will allow for endless possibilities in our classroom.
