My Students
My Jumping Jellybeans are full of life. My kindergartners come to class everyday ready and eager to learn. My elementary school is located in southern Houston, Texas. We serve students from low income and multicultural/bilingual homes. Our community is tight-knit, and we are extremely fortunate to be strongly supported by our families.
My Jellybeans are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs or teachers. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful careers.
My Project
Our school and community were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. Our students had to evacuate homes by dump trucks and/or boats. Several of our students and staff members lost their homes and belongs due to flooding.
After two weeks of school closures due to Hurricane Harvey, we arrived at school to find our school was also flooded; our students need to have a safe and welcoming place to get away from the trauma and uncertainty of their physical homes.
Learning Stations are a big part of our classroom and we lost a lot due to Hurricane Harvey, so we would like new reading and math stations to enhance our learning and ease our transition back into the classroom. I am requesting different materials including a CD player, headphones, and magnetic activity tins.
