This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited, energetic and eager learners that care about one another. These students learn in a variety of ways and make a point to treat each other like family in the classroom. Unfortunately, life outside the classroom can be both challenging and inconsistent due to a background of poverty.

My goal is for each student to see his or her amazing potential and be given as many opportunities for success as possible.

My school is located in a highest need area with 100% of my students qualifying for free and reduced-price lunch. Additionally, we are a very diverse class with bilingual and non-English speakers. We celebrate our backgrounds and differences, and no longer want to be limited due to poverty.

My Project

"Good Writers Go To College" is a project designed to provide students with the necessary materials needed for writing workshop. Binders, paper, folders and many other tools are used daily to help students go through the writing process and organize their writing pieces! While many children have these materials every year, the students at my school are not always as fortunate.

Every child deserves to have their academic needs met every year, from in-school learning to basic, every day, classroom materials.

My goal as an educator is to provide my students with every opportunity for success, but sadly there are limits to what materials my school and I can provide. Please consider donating to supply the fourth graders at my school with the tools they need to be successful in Writing Workshop!
