My students come from culturally diverse backgrounds and experience economical and cultural bias. The importance of cultivating and maintaining a positive learning environment, remote or in-person, is imperative. These young people are smart, caring, courageous special human beings who are brimming with potential to change the world. Please help us to expand student identity and reach their goals!
My Project
Graphic Novels continue to be the center of a reading boom in my classroom. Students who would ordinarily shy away from reading are diving into Graphic Novels like no other genre in our classroom library. Currently, the few I do have are passed along to the next reader even before the book is checked back in.
Providing my students with these diverse Graphic Novels will allow ALL readers the opportunity to increase comprehension, vocabulary and the LOVE of reading!
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will foster comprehension and critical thinking skills.
