My Students

In my classroom, we are not just students and a teacher. We are a family, a class family. We encourage, help, empathize, and have fun with each other. We set goals individually and as a whole group and celebrate each success!

My Project

Teachers are constantly being challenged to help their students set and reach goals. As a reading teacher, I encourage my students to read for 45 minutes each class period. I have a class timer, but I really want to provide my students with individual timers.

These individual timers will help my students set goals to build their stamina as readers which, in turn, will intrinsically motivate them to continue to read.

In my classroom, each student will get to keep a timer with them throughout the week. At the end of the week, students will calculate the average minutes read, then set a goal for the following week.
