Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

SHSl is located in AR. The school's free/reduced-priced lunch rate is 82.74% and the demographics are as follows: 56.9% Hispanic, 19.9% Pacific Islander, 15.8% Caucasian, 3.4% African American, 1.4% Asian, and.4% American Indian. The latest Body Mass Index indicates that 55.5% of the 10th grade students are in the overweight and obese category. The SHS Football program (comprised of 125 student-athletes) is requesting cleats to properly equip students for health and wellness success. The goal is for all students who need support with cleats for the 2024 Football Season, to have access regardless of ability to pay. Maslow's Hierarchy of needs indicates that safety (such as cleats) is essential to a student's sense of belonging and athletic success.
