Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

During the spring months, our third through fifth-grade classes participate in Unified Track and Field and Traditional Soccer with Special Olympics! Unified Track and Field is an opportunity for students with and without disabilities to participate in competitions together such as the softball throw, mini javelin throw, 100m dash, and 4x100m relay. Soccer is an opportunity for students to develop passing, dribbling, and shooting skills. Throughout the season we practice at school and then compete on an official track and soccer field.

In order to effectively practice our athletic skills like the mini javelin throw and soccer dribbling at school, we need sports equipment for every athlete!

With your help, we will have a set of equipment for the whole team! These items will help students practice their sports skills and social-emotional skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and self-awareness. Help us bring home the gold with this equipment!
