My Students
My amazing students have just entered the first grade, which is a time of tremendous academic, social, and emotional growth. Throughout the year, I work hard to give these cute students a variety of experiences to enhance their skills as readers, writers, mathematicians, musicians, artists, friends, and citizens.
My classroom is a place where learning is loud, hands-on, student-centered, and rewarding.
Students spend much of their day in small groups working on interactive educational tasks. I firmly believe that the person doing the talking is the one who will learn most, so I empower my students to lead discussions, be active members in those discussions, serve as teachers, and help one another. My students are excited to come to school each day to discover, build relationships, and learn through fun, purposeful activities.
My Project
My students work hard all year long to achieve their goals, both ones that I set for them and ones they set for themselves.
In order to reach their goals, they need supplies like pens, post it notes, and glue.
Students will work toward their goal of becoming authors as they publish their writing using flair tip pens. They will develop skills as collaborative learners as they use post it notes during small group project work time. Glue sticks will enable them to complete learning tasks and art projects. Expo Markers will help students be more engaged during lessons as they write down answers to questions, draw diagrams they use during group discussions, and write sentences with sight words. Having all these supplies will help students be more engaged in lessons and activities. As they increase their engagement, they will acquire academic and social skills that will help all students as they go for the goal!
