These materials will fulfill my dream to have a STEM-focused classroom. I am starting work at a brand-new school, so I am starting from the ground up with many things, including materials. My team and I are excited to embrace STEM more fully in our classrooms, but none of us have the STEM materials required to fulfill this dream. With these materials, I plan to create both a Morning Tub area and a STEM area in my classroom. Each morning, students will have a fun and exciting morning bin activity to start their day. The bins will feature the STEM manipulatives and a fun, collaborative task for students to complete with one another. Students will have practice developing social skills, engineering skills, math facts, problem-solving, and creative abilities. Each Friday, I will have STEM days where all students in first grade will rotate to my classroom to participate in a collaborative STEM challenges. Students from multiple classes will benefit from the activities made possible by having these materials.
