We are a second grade inclusion classroom with a mixture of general education and special needs students in a high needs area in the Bronx. My students are a group of diverse learners, with a wide range of abilities.
Many of my students enjoy being in school and coming into my classroom every day; they see it as a consistent part of their lives.
With their desire to learn and the effort they put forth, these children inspire me every day.
We are second grade students at a high-needs, Title I school in the Bronx.
While the majority of students come from low-income homes, shelters, or from homes with limited parental involvement, they are enthusiastic and come to school every day ready to learn. They see school as a consistent part of their daily lives and love to make me proud.
My students are some of the happiest children I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and they inspire me to provide the best education I can for them.
My Project
My students definitely will benefit from having these awesome Surf Portable Lap Desks! Just think, you are hard at work and your best buddy just wont stop talking to you. What do you do? Well, now you can just get up and grab a Surf Portable Lap Desk and go find a spot in the classroom that's nice and quiet and you can get to work!
You know it is very hard to write a great story while trying to lean on you folder for support instead of a desk.
Now my kiddos will be able to have a desk top to support them while writing.
We are an inclusion class and some students need to work where they are comfortable, so that may be sitting in a different spot in the classroom. These desks will be great for small group instruction on the carpet!
Since I have a combination of special needs and general education students I conduct a lot of small group instruction and especially in math we use a lot of manipulatives, so working on the carpet is a must; we need the room! It is difficult for my second graders to write clearly and comfortably when they don't have a hard surface to lean on.
