My students come from middle to lower class families. It's hard to make ends meet many times in our rural district. There are few businesses here to solicit for funding and there is no budget for buying new equipment. Many of the materials we use in not only my classroom, but all classes, are significantly outdated. This can create safety issues in my physical education classes as well with such outdated equipment. The kids I teach deserve the best possible equipment and education possible, which is why I am using this program for assistance.
Because of the difference in archery and other physical education activities, my students truly enjoy the ability to participate in archery. Kids do not need to be the fastest or most athletic; anyone can participate. My students give maximum participation and it is the unit in class that all are excited for at the beginning of the school year.
All students who participate, enjoy the process of shooting the bows and disciplining themselves to become better at shooting them.
Bows are expensive and our district struggle with its finances. With your help, we can put more bows in our students' hands so they get the opportunity to participate in the great sport of archery!
