This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is getting ready for something really special - Global Youth Service Day: Our Schoolwide Service Day! This day is all about coming together to help people in our community who need it. We have 842 students participating from kindergarten to 8th grade, and we're excited to make a positive impact.
With your help through DonorsChoose, we want to give our students the stuff they need to do some amazing service-learning projects.
These projects will help different groups in our community.
Here's what we're planning to do:
1. Hygiene Bags and Blankets for Kids in Foster Care: We'll put together bags with things like soap and toothpaste, along with cozy blankets, to help kids in foster care feel more comfortable.
2. Game Night Kits for Military Families: We'll make kits with board games and snacks to give military families a fun night together.
3. *doption Bags for Animal Shelters: Our students will make bags with toys and treats for animals waiting to find homes in shelters.
4. Birthday Bags for Food Pantries: We'll create bags with cake mix, decorations, and small gifts so that kids who need it can have a special birthday celebration.
5. Stress Buster Bags for Teens in Crisis: We'll put together bags with things like stress balls and coloring books to help teens who are going through a tough time.
Doing these projects will teach our students about helping others and working together as a team. Your donation will help us make a big difference in our community and show our students the power of kindness.
