Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a diverse background brought together in an urban district. Despite the negative headlines in the media about our neighborhood they thrive on the hope that they will succeed and will be prepared to compete in a global economy.
Many of our students have never traveled outside of our city.
They believe in our Career and Technical education program and work hard in the Hospitality & Tourism pathway to be first-generation Hospitality Managers and workers. They will be exposed to 4 countries total on this educational tour; and will learn to speak basic courtesies in German and Italian.
My Project
The Germany, Italy, Switzerland educational tour is designed to help students become global citizens and bring subjects and destinations to life. This tour will develop perspectives that set students apart on college applications—and give them a leg up in their future careers . It will spark the lifelong ability to take on any new experience with confidence.
It will allow students who may never be able to otherwise see another country, the opportunity to travel to 4 countries in this single tour.
Our students will be able to connect the career skills that they learn in the Hospitality & Tourism Pathway to their experience in each country.
