My students are a bunch of Minecraft playing, Harry Potter loving, Star Wars watching, floss dancing, book worms, who work hard and do their best. My students enjoy the pleasures of growing up in a small town community with good neighbors, beautiful scenery, and lots of space to play. What my students lack is school resources and funding.
My students deserve to have access to a variety of quality, books on all levels.
After the long months of remote learning, and the stress and anxiety caused by the covid pandemic, I am hoping to provide my students with high-interest books that can benefit my students both in my classroom and at home.
My Project
I am excited to provide a plethora of books to my student to use both in the classroom and at home as they are continuing to strengthen their reading skills. First, books such as "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," and "Hatchet books" are a favorite in my 5th-grade class. I am hoping to encourage reading by offering books my student will love. Second, I am hoping books like "Ida Early Comes over the Mountain" and "Where the Red Fern Grown," can also provide some historical perspective to my students' reading. Finally, I am hoping these books will motivate my student to read, increase their reading abilities, and provide joy to their lives.
