Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school that is in an at-risk and low-income neighborhood. My students come from diverse backgrounds; the majority are Hispanic or African American. A little less than half of my students are limited English proficient and exceptional education students.
Many come from single-parent households or families that are in transition.
We work very hard to overcome all of these challenges. My students have the exact same eagerness to learn science as their peers in more affluent schools. Unfortunately, the school's resources and technology are very limited.
My classroom is a place where curiosity is cultivated and creativity is fostered. My students are inquisitive learners who love learning about our world. I strive to make all lessons interesting and engaging so students become more curious about the world and crave even more knowledge. The world's greatest inventions and advancements all started with curiosity.
My Project
My students do almost all of their work on laptops every day. However some students forget to charge their laptops at night, and by the end of the day, some students don't have any power left to keep working.
By having these extension cords, my students will be able to charge their laptops while at their desks, ensuring they are able to do their work every day.
Students will not have to worry about their battery when they know that they will be able to recharge their laptops in class each day if needed!
