Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When was the last time you used a computer? The only time many of my students are engaged in using a computer is at school.
I teach an amazing ELL (English Language Learner) class in a Las Vegas, NV.
My class does not have computers in the home, but go to the library and come to school early to use them. We are fortunate to be a Title 1 school where we have been supplied with a few computers in our room.
My Project
My eager to learn second graders love to spend time on the computers when it is their turn. I would love to motivate them by letting them pick out educational games they can play and at the same time learn Common Core standards. I want to make learning fun again. My students need educational technology games to learn how to use computers as a learning center.
What would you do without your computer?
I want to teach my second graders how important technology is and how important technology is when it comes to education. There is a whole new world out there when using computers and I want to introduce to these learners that learning can be fun when using computers and educational games.
