Ms. Jacobs from Rock Hill SC is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the chance to sit in something more stimulating, comfortable, and age-appropriate than a chair all day! With new safety guidelines, students can no longer sit together on the carpet or at tables!

I teach 18 of the most amazing 4 years olds in RockHill, SC! They are funny, kind, bright, and growing so much right before my eyes. We are in a rural community that neighbors Charlotte, NC. Our kids are focused on learning their letters and the sounds they make, raising their print awareness, recognizing their first and last name, and beginning to write independently. In math they are learning how to measure, count from 1-20, identify 2D and 3D shapes, identify their numbers, and add/subtract up to 10!
As much as I try to teach them every day they teach me just as much if not more.
They teach me that ice-cream Friday should always be treated like a national holiday, painting is one of the "funnest" things out there to do, and every day should involve playing, singing, and dancing.
They're an active and diverse population of little learners. We have 4 students that are Dual Language Learners and they're all in my room because they qualify for discounted lunch or score below a certain score on 4K the assessment.
These inflatable ball seats will allow students to move and balance—reducing restlessness and improving focus while they learn! Being four and sitting in a desk for 6 hours is not age-appropriate, comfortable, or healthy for development.
These chairs will be at my student's desks and allow them to wiggle while learning!
Sitting for long periods of time is hard enough for adults, but imagine that being your first impression of school as a 4-year-old.
The students will be more focused on the important content being taught if they are able to use the wiggle chairs in my project as a non-distracting movement outlet.
