My Students

Entering the first year of elementary during a pandemic has been challenging to say the least. My kindergartners have not experienced a "normal" school year, and may never experience one. The challenges of COVID-19 in education are profound. Students miss weeks of invaluable in-person instruction due to sickness and quarantines.

My students have shown resilience, determination, and a passion for learning during these difficult times.

My students show up each day with a smile on their faces and the desire to learn.

Many of my students had no early childhood education (preschool) do to the pandemic. This has resulted in students starting kindergarten farther behind in their skills and knowledge than others.

With these materials, I will be able to provide meaningful learning and practice opportunities to my class in an age appropriate way.

My Project

Students will be able to socially distance and use the materials independently during center time. Students will use the materials to solidify taught concepts by applying that knowledge to solve games and problem-solving.

These materials will be used to continue academic learning in light of COVID-19, by providing center activities where students are able to engage in a fun way of learning and review and to solidify their knowledge of kindergarten standards.

Students will use the language arts games to practice letter names, sounds, sight words, cvc words and more.

Students will use the math centers to practice counting and cardinality, number sense, addition and subtraction, and much more.

These center games will also provide academic language support for ESL students.
