Help me give my students new library books to celebrate Black History Month. The books in this project are new award winning books by black authors and about relevant topics for our middle school students.

My Project

Our school has a very diverse population of students coming from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We serve a population from Pre-K to grade 8 and include those with physical and developmental disabilities. Our diversity is what makes us a first choice for families in our district.

Celebrating Black History Month is a strong tradition here at our school, but our students need access to the latest award winning books by black authors and books about relevant topics.

This year's new award winners have just been announced, but with no budget for our school library our students will miss out on these incredible new pieces of literature during Black History Month. Your generous donation will help us to buy new books by authors such as Jason Reynolds and Ibi Zoboi and important nonfiction titles as well.
