Give Birth to Life-long Readers With Cyrm Books!

Help me give my students nominated California Young Reader Medal books to share for our annual reading program.

My Project

The annual California Young Reader Medal Program offers all of our students a variety of engaging nominated books in leveled reading categories, consisting of three titles in each, totaling 12 titles. A site-created, enhanced program includes prizes for our students in completing 1-4 of these categories which encourages more reading, sharing, and collaboration among the participants.

The books in the CYRM program either give birth to a life-long reader or enhance one who is already craving more engaging stories.

After students experienced Distance Learning, they're now seeking exciting escapes for their mental health and social and emotional well-being. Sometimes the books are the first in a series, and readers will continue to finish the series once they complete a category.

Most often these books help students identify with either the story, characters, or both. Offering a look into worlds beyond their own allows students to reflect on ways that they could help improve and change the world. By providing up to four copies of each title, there would be enough books for the program to share and rotate amongst our readers.
