My Students
I'm the head coach of a Co-op Girls Hockey team in WI. My team is composed of eight different schools.
I currently have 27 girls on my 2018-19 roster.
My athletes work hard, are respectful, and make a huge commitment to play hockey! A majority of my girls travel over one hour, one way, to get to practice each day.
I hold the girls to a high standard on the ice, so we can continue to be successful. Not only do I have high standards for them on the ice, but they are also held to those standards in the classroom and the community. My girls are a fantastic group to coach!
My Project
Water bottles are used daily and will be effective during practices and games. Each week a different player is required to fill and haul the bottles on and off the ice. I made the decision last season to get each player their own water bottle due to illness. I can honestly say our team was much healthier this season than in the past. I am in need of more water bottles for the incoming freshman players.
After competing in the state tournament for the last three years in a row, I thought it would be a good idea to reward the girls and get them a new set of game socks.
Hockey socks are needed by every player on the team. They all need to match as it is part of our uniform. As you can imagine after years of being worn the socks have black puck marks on them, they are torn and ripped, the color is faded, and the elastic doesn't hold anymore at the bottom. We all know that if you look good, you feel good, and then hopefully we play that same way.
