This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the course of the year, I give Girl's Empowerment activities/speeches to my physical education students. I reinforce the importance of good hygiene and personal appearance. In their goody bags, they will each receive sanitary napkins, tampons, flushable feminine wipes, and deodorant/deodorant wipes, etc. Many of our students attend school daily without the proper necessities and rely on us as their teachers for those items.

This care package may not supply my students for the remainder of the year but can definitely get them off to a good start and encourage them to take pride in their well-being and hygiene.

I also, coach volleyball and cross country. The iPad, heat press, and cup machine, will be used to make personalized items such as their team spirit shirts, personalized drinking cups with the school logo/their names, etc. This will cut cost on using outside vendors, while teaching entrepreneurial skills. Our school is striving for EXCELLENCE and this project being funded will support this goal being met.
