Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a PreK-5th grade bilingual elementary school in a rural suburban town in Colorado. Students are all encouraged and supported to become avid readers from the time they enter until they matriculate in 5th grade. Our students go on to have great successes and win many awards at a variety of different middle and high schools in the area.

Our amazing students are proud to be bilingual and love to read and write in both English and Spanish.

They pride themselves on helping each other, learning to regulate themselves, and solving conflicts, all while celebrating the diversity of our entire community.

My Project

As always we are trying to keep our school library stocked with the latest and greatest titles for our students to enjoy and read.

All of these books are included on A Mighty Girl's Best Books of 2021 list, which showcases the best books of the year starring girls and women for readers of all ages (A Mighty Girl is the world’s largest collection of books and other products parents, teachers, and others dedicated to raising smart, confident, and courageous girls and, of course, for girls themselves!).

These books will be enjoyed by all of our students, not just the girls.
