Recess is an important part of our studentsʻ school day. Several studies demonstrate that recess, whether performed indoors or outdoors, made children more attentive and more productive in the classroom Jarrett, O. J. Education Research, 1998. Providing our students with craft activities and a variety of recess equipment will increase engagement during recess.
In addition to increasing engagement, having a variety of activities for students to choose from during recess will help to promote character development, increase opportunities to practice decision-making, explore their identity, and connect their learning to interests and passions.
