My Students

Albert Einstein said, "It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." My desire as a teacher is to awaken the joy and exploration of learning in a safe and loving place. Being a preschool teacher can be a challenge as the students are figuring out the expectations and where their place is in the world.

My students are filled with the wonder of the world around them and come up with new ways to describe what they see.

I want to create an atmosphere where the children are free to dream and free to be themselves. I want to be able to give them new experiences in and out of the classroom, teaching them not only right from wrong but how to love one another as well.

Life has thrown us a curve ball and I want to open the door of play and learning at every opportunity. My students are curious and cautious. They are shy and excited. They love to climb and build, create and read. This is the year to challenge them as they play, creating a space where they can be free to express themselves

My Project

Over the last two years, we have been told to be careful of what we touch and to wash our hands...constantly. This has brought a level of fear and hesitation to many families which is then passed down to the children. Many of my students are sensory deprived and need safe things to touch and play in.

The washable sensory set will give my students the hands on learning that they have been craving and is easy to clean so we are not passing on germs.

The sand molds will make the pounds of kinetic sand that we already have more enjoyable. While the squishy toys, weighted blankets and cuddle ball will give them a way to express themselves in a healthy manner.
