Oprah Winfrey once said "Education is the key to lifting vulnerable and underserved communities out of poverty, and empowering people to reach their fullest potential." The student population that I teach is either at the poverty level or below. Some of them will go on to be the first in their family to graduate high school and even college. Every child deserves to have access to a quality education and be equipped with the social skills needed to advance outside of the classroom. My students are filled with wonder and imagination. Some have been in preschool and some have never been in a classroom. They come in expectant and hopeful ready to try something new and fun. My desire is to give them a foundation of love so they can go on to learn about the world around them. Meeting each child where they are and inviting them to go further than they could ever imagine.
