My Students

"Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way." Students and teachers today are fortunate to be in an educational system that can accommodate different learning styles and abilities through use of technology. Increased use of technology will benefit us in many ways!

The students in our classroom are energetic, funny, diverse, caring, inquisitive learners.

In all content areas, our students range from below grade level to above grade level and everything in between. Our school is an IB school which means our students are given a unique world view perspective. Students leave our elementary school with the tools to help build a better future (not just for our country) but for today's changing world.

My Project

Students will use Chrome books to access the free programs available to learn (Front Row, Kahn Academy) and also systems that our school has subscriptions to (Moby Max, Lexia). These programs have been proven to increase understanding and work at a student's ability level. In addition, screen time for some will lead to more individualized instruction in small groups specifically in math and literacy.

Not only will increased use of technology show academic growth, but it will also allow students to gain skills that they will need for the real world.

Some of the students in the classroom do not have access to computers at home and will greatly benefit from exposure to systems that they will use throughout their education and life.
