Getting to the Heart of it All!

My students need basic supplies for my art classes including drawing pencils, tools, and glaze to decorate their pottery.

My Students

"Breathe easy!" This is my mantra for my classroom. I want my students to have a space where they can be their best and creative self. I would like my students to be able to have access to professional supplies because I want them to continue building problem solving and critical thinking skills.

As an art specialist I am very lucky because I am able to meet the majority of the student body since I teach semester long classes.

My students inspire, challenge, and teach me new things everyday. Our school has fabulous teachers and staff who are caring and passionate. We have a very culturally diverse student body. Next year we will reach about 1550 students.

My Project

Next year I have more students signed up for my classes then in previous years. I have been working hard to build my ceramics program and my class sizes are around 30-35 students per class. I want to offer materials that I have in the past but I also want to continue finding tools and supplies that will help to build my program. I chose tools that can be used for all of my classes on a daily basis. The drawing pencils will be used by ceramic students for sketching and for my Foundation Art students to draw their portrait and expressive line drawings. The glazes and pottery tools are special supplies. I would like my students to experiment with new colors and designs that I hope will inspire them in the work they create.

My classes are growing and I have to be more creative with how I find funding to buy supplies.

The art supplies donated to my class are very important. My students will be able to try new tools and have new experiences when they are creating their work. I hope these experiences will help them to continue to grow as artists and to appreciate art by offering a variety of tools in my classroom.
