Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students arrive at school ready and eager to explore the world around them through books. My students come from a low poverty community.
Our school offers free breakfast and lunch to all of our students.
They have learned many hard lessons in life and have experienced things that many of the adults I know have never experienced.
Our classroom is their "safe" place where they come to learn. Our school is also very limited in the supplies and curriculum resources that can be provided for our classroom. That is the reason I seek out and provide as many of the resources I can for my students.
The look on their faces when they learn something new or they can see beyond the four invisible walls set up around the neighborhood is priceless!
My Project
I already have my GYTO Conference in February funded, and I'm so excited to go!
I would like to see if I can get some help with some of the costs such as food, lodging, and transportation.
This conference will help me become a better teacher for my students. I will learn how to do things that will keep things interesting and exciting for my students. This conference brings many of the popular educators that teach out of the box. GYTO is the best place to learn from these educators! I already have the conference covered and would like some help with the other expenses. Thank you in advance!
