My Students

I'm completely blessed to be teaching first grade. My students love coming to school and are very excited about being here. My school is a Title I school where we strive to provide our students with the best academic experience possible.

My students are extremely bright, motivated, and talented.

In our classroom, we have created a fun and collaborative learning environment where we celebrate differences and learn to take risks. The progress they make throughout the year never fails to amaze me! I am always so incredibly proud of the progress they make, based on their hard work.

My Project

This year our class has been provided a set of Chromebooks! We are so excited and thankful to have them available. Teaching first graders to use the Chromebooks comes with its own set of challenges. I believe having an individual mouse will create less frustration when learning to navigate educational sites (such as Seesaw) on the Chromebooks. The computer touchpad becomes frustrating for many of my students as they attempt to complete work. My students are still mastering fine motor skills and hit their frustration levels quite easily. We use Seesaw as a district learning platform and they are required to manipulate and move pieces of the lessons assigned. Individual mice will make this process much easier!
