When we finally got to get out all the Makey Makey kits they were skeptical about if they were going to get shocked or not. No one was electrically shocked but they were shocked at how cool it could be to use a Makey Makey. They loved creating their own creations out of playdoh, paper, and other classroom items. \r\nNow that we have made our way through open and closed circuits with all of the tools from this project the students are asking more questions and diving deeper. I can't wait to continue with this for years to come! As they close gaps in their learning they will grow in other aspects of their education. \r\nI am most excited to see their confidence grow in learning in general. With my young students I have been able to help them make connections in engineering. I love seeing them make connections of things they see in their daily life. Sometimes they will compare them to a car or engine or a heavy machine truck they saw at a construction site. Because we also got gears of different sizes, we also got to talk about gear ratios. My students will be able to carry these learning experiences with them as we talk more about engineering. \r\nThey were so excited to see all the new objects to build with and haven't gotten bored at all of them. I cannot say thank you enough for putting these in the hands of my students.
