This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students this year are very eager to learn. They are very curious and are interested in researching new things.
I work at an elementary school that has a fifty-four percent rate of students that participate in Medicaid, SNAP or TANF; homeless, foster, or migrant students.
I currently have twenty-two students that I am trying to build the strongest foundation possible for. I have a variety of students who come from different backgrounds. Hispanic, Caucasian, African American and Puerto Rican are just a few of my students' diverse backgrounds. My students come to school with an amazing attitude and excited to learn. At times, my students spend their free time asking questions about different things I have taught them. Their eagerness to learn is what drives me to create projects that I know will help them be successful.
My Project
I have requested some different resources for our classroom. Throughout the year, I have realized that organization is the key to success. It is imperative to practice what you preach. I teach my students the importance of staying organized and that everything has a place. The filing boxes I have requested will help me organize our academic activities by months.
My students are very driven by our classroom literacy stations.
I have requested the magnet letters, letter beads, game spinner, and differentiated cubes to enhance their literacy stations. My wish is for my students to build words and sentences using these magnet letters.
Technology is a huge part of our everyday activities. Students use our classroom iPads daily to enhance their academic skills by reading decodables, playing sight word games, and completing math games. Some of our tech accessories have unfortunately stopped working. I am requesting for our classroom to get new charging cables and a charging block. This way, all iPads can be charged and ready each day. I am also requesting kid friendly iPad cases. This will help our iPads stay protected and shatter free. Technology is becoming more and more popular inside the classroom, and it is important to me that we keep the iPads safe so they can last a while.
