My Project

It's amazing how far the world of technology has gotten, but it's a shame that we are so limited in the classroom. My students have started creating animations on their laptops, but as we start to explore animations, there are some programs that only work on a tablet. As we started looking at the history of claymation, students started researching ways to create their own. They tried so hard using a Chromebook but their videos did not come out the way they wanted to. We are currently using my own personal iPad, but in class of over thirty students, one tablet can only get us so far. Beyond that, some of my ELL students started using the iPad to scan documents and translating them for better understanding. They even text to read to help them with the pronunciation of the words in our science class, which something I have never even thought of myself. This truly helps bring equity in education for all students.

An iPad will allow us to expand our young STEM engineers' and scientists' minds by being able to translate texts, create sketch animations and incorporating green screens in their videos.

Building our students with 21st century skills is my goal and never limiting their creativity is my passion. They have so much they are capable of and something as simple as a device can allow their ideas to come to life.
