Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are always looking forward to physical education time. They are inspired by the prospect of leading healthy lives. All the students I teach come from caring and close-knit families that value their love for one another. Though they may not have much money, it doesn't keep them from being their best.
Getting basic equipment for my students to enjoy games and activities designed to lead healthy lives is my goal.
My students don't have a lot and would really appreciate basic physical education equipment.
My Project
This project is designed to acquire basic equipment for the students to enjoy while playing organized games. After Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated our area and Puerto Rico, I want to build morale and excite the students to stay active. After listening to the effects including being displaced from their homes, without power for weeks, and missing school for many days, I believe getting them back to a normal routine and giving them some new equipment to use will lead to greater morale.
We are requesting colored cones of different sizes in order to play games.
Using this equipment while teaching such games as soccer, hockey, and lacrosse will keep the children safer since boundaries will clearly be marked. Other chasing and fleeing games will also benefit from this equipment for the same reason.
