This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, energetic and full of potential! They enjoy hands-on activities and have a desire to learn! They come to school each day and do their best to be their best. This happens despite all of the things that occur in their lives that are out of their control. For some children, the time they spend at school is the only sense of normalcy they experience each day. I want to make that time pleasant. I want to make that time enjoyable. I want them to explore places and things that I can’t physically provide for them. My students desire to learn and grow and they are truly my inspiration!

My Project

A classroom can’t function if students aren’t prepared. Pencils, pens, scissors, and glue will fill the void of the missing staples students need to be successful in my class each day. Interactive notebooks take a large amount of my school provided copy paper. The box of that will bridge the gap between what I am given and what I will have to buy with my already slim paycheck. Learning and teaching takes creativity. Students need verbal motivation daily; however, sometimes I have to be creative. The snacks will allow me to keep my students motivated throughout the year. I will use these items as rewards for improved behavior, reaching / surpassing academic goals and for class participation. They will also serve as a brain boost or a wake up tool if necessary.
