My Students

I am a special education teacher who has a group of boys that are so full of energy that I am exhausted by the time the school day is over. They keep me on my toes. These boys are funny and can make a bad day turn around with just a smile. Unfortunately they have difficulty sitting still. Their little bodies are constantly in motion. This can make it difficult for them to concentrate and complete assignments. My students want to do well and become successful in my classroom so they can return to the general education classroom. That is what I love the most about them.

My Project

My students are a very active group of first grade boys. Their bodies are always in motion. This makes it difficult for them to learn in a traditional classroom setting. They are not able to sit at a desk for long periods of time without getting into trouble. The Wobble Chair swivels. This would allow the students to sit at a desk or table and still be able to move a little. They can rock back and forth or move side to side. That little bit of motion can help them stay on task and keep their focus on the assignment in front of them. The other seating choices are also good at allowing movement while in a "proper" seated position.
