Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My group of second graders are all fighters. They have definitely overcome all odds during this time. They have blossomed from the moment we were able to walk back into our school. They continue to surprise me every single day that I go to school. My students definitely give my job meaning. I have become so protective of them because they deserve every single type of love we can give them. Their personalities will definitely make you see teaching in a whole new light and make those difficult moments seem like silly things. They beat all odds no matter how hard life may seem, and I continue to be so proud of them!
My Project
These supplies are meant to help my students learn from home while we cannot use the necessary resources available in school. Some of my students come from families who struggle on a day to day basis.
It has very difficult adjusting to the routines of what we know as school during COVID-19.
My students' families have gone through all types of situations from emotional to financial. However, they have made it all work to help their children enter an environment they think they will succeed in. Some families have had to go back to work full time and found themselves putting their children back into school because they cannot afford staying home. Some children have single parents and may not have help from family members. I took it upon myself to help out these families as much as I can, and I believe this is the right thing to do for them!
